Celebrating the Irish Journey to Buffalo:
"UNIONTOWN"
1879 in Buffalo New York, there was a fenced in community designed by Union Iron Works to keep their workers under control and "under their thumb." The workers were mostly composed of Irish immigrants to Buffalo. They had a hard life of 12-hour days, 6 days a week filled with strenuous work, long hours and dangerous conditions. On their 1 day "off", they escaped their dire work-a-day world by playing hard - baseball, foot-races, boxing, rowing. For that brief moment in time, the were real sports stars.
UNIONTOWN gives a glimpse of these people and their life in theatrical reminiscence with memorable stories, time honored music and traditional dance.
Welcome to UNIONTOWN!
